Dear Friends and Supporters

We are pleased to share our exciting news about the future of Supporting Alternative Solutions (SAS). On November 1, 2011, we will join Home of Guiding Hands to strengthen our services and future. We chose to merge operations with Home of Guiding Hands because of their reputation for excellence in services to persons with developmental disabilities for over 40 years. The transition for our Respite and Early Start programs will be effective Nov. 1 and our residential program by the end of November. All SAS programs will go on without interruption, yet now with strengthened capacity and financial sustainability.

This is an exciting time for SAS: this merger will have positive benefits for all. Clients will continue to receive the high quality services; supporters will see the programs they care about flourish; and staff members will have access to career development opportunities.

It is our goal to make the transition as seamless and smooth as possible, so there will be no interruption in services.

SAS’s vision and mission are in perfect alignment with the mission and vision of Home of Guiding Hands. Together, we turn two well-run organizations into one dynamic nonprofit committed to innovation and benchmark services.

Please feel free to contact Ana Parra at 619-670-9500 should you have any questions about this merger. For more information on Home of Guiding Hands please visit their website at www.guidinghands.org.

We look forward to providing our compassionate and professional care under our new name as we continue to champion the rights of people with developmental disabilities.
